Future Mobility and Road Safety
AI & Robotics Competition
About the competition
The “Future Mobility and Road Safety AI & Robotics Competition” aims to harness the power of artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart systems to develop innovative solutions for enhancing road safety and future mobility.
Inspired by the vision of the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) and AD Mobility, who are also partners in this initiative, the competition reflects their commitment to advancing smart, sustainable, and safe transportation systems.
Future Mobility & Road Safety AI & Robotics Competition is a platform that hosts robotics competitions, encouraging interdisciplinary learning in science and technology. Its goal is to cultivate a world that values STEAM education, where contestants are passionate about innovation.
The challenge is an opportunity for participants to learn about the concepts of artificial intelligence and robotics and their application in various fields, such as future mobility, road safety, smart systems, automation, and sustainable development.
By participating in the challenge, contestants will develop their scientific, technical and innovative skills, and enhance their understanding of future technology.
Theme of the year
The theme, "Future Mobility and Road Safety," focuses on using AI, robotics, and smart systems to enhance road safety and create efficient, sustainable transport. With the rise of smart cities, innovative solutions are needed to reduce accidents, improve transportation, and protect all road users, including drivers, passengers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Participants are encouraged to develop scalable solutions addressing real-world challenges, such as intelligent vehicle systems, AI-driven traffic management, autonomous vehicles, micro-mobility, pedestrian safety, or driver monitoring. The goal is to leverage AI and robotics to improve safety, efficiency, and accessibility in future mobility systems.
Participation terms
The participating teams must develop innovative projects using AI and Robotics, that have an economic or social impact, introduce new added values and use new technologies to support Future Mobility & Road Safety, and comply with the following conditions:
- The team should consist of two or a maximum of four members of the same category and one or two supervisors (the supervisor's age must be over 18 years).
- Category 1 (Juniors): Participants aged 9 to 13.
- Category 2 (Seniors): Participants aged 14 to 18.
- Category 3 (Professionals): Participants aged >18
- Teams will be organized based on the age group of the participants.
- All team members must belong to the same age group.
- As an exception, students who will be 13 years old by the registration deadline may choose to join the Senior Category if they wish to advance.
- Each team’s supervisor must register their team by completing the application form on the official website.
- Projects must align with the competition theme: Future Mobility and Road Safety using AI & Robotics.
- Submitted projects must meet all specific requirements outlined in this guidebook.
- All projects must be submitted before 31st of March 2025, at 11:59 PM UAE time.
Awards
Contestants are encouraged to think independently and incorporate insights, experiences, and thoughts into their projects. It is believed that each contestant may have a different understanding of the theme, and we wish to see distinct elaborate designs, rather than copies of the same project.
